Course Description
The Wagga Race Series offers a flat and fast course along the scenic Wiradjuri Walking Track, running between Wiradjuri Reserve and Copeland Street alongside the Murrumbidgee River. This out-and-back route provides an ideal setting for personal bests, with minimal elevation change and smooth pathways throughout. Runners will enjoy picturesque views of the river and Wagga Beach precinct whilst tackling their chosen distance. The well-marked course suits both seasoned athletes chasing fast times and newcomers seeking a supportive environment for their first race. With distances ranging from 2km to the half marathon, the course provides an enjoyable running experience with plenty of natural beauty along the way.

Getting There
The Riverside Precinct is located just five minutes from Wagga Wagga CBD, making it easily accessible for participants staying centrally. Parking is available at the venue, though carpooling is recommended as spaces may be limited on race morning. Unfortunately, public transport does not operate on Sunday mornings in Wagga Wagga, so driving, cycling, or walking are your best options. Registration opens at 6:30 AM, so plan to arrive by 7:00 AM to collect your bib, warm up, and secure parking before the first race starts.

April in Wagga Wagga brings pleasant autumn conditions, with morning temperatures typically ranging from 8-12°C at the early start times, warming to 18-22°C by mid-morning. Expect crisp, clear mornings with low humidity, ideal for running. The sun rises around 6:30 AM, providing good visibility throughout all race distances. Dress in layers you can shed as you warm up, and don't forget sunscreen and a hat for the later start times. With minimal rainfall expected in April, conditions should be excellent for achieving your racing goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a series discount available?
Yes! Register for both Race 1 (19 April 2026) and Race 2 (15 November 2026) to receive 10% off your total entry and a free series t-shirt.
Are there cut-off times for the races?
The 2km, 5km, and 10km events have no cut-off times. The Half Marathon has a 3.5-hour cut-off time, giving participants plenty of time to complete the distance at their own pace.
Can I run with my child in the 2km Family Dash?
Absolutely! An accompanying adult can run with their child for an additional $10. Register your child first, then add an accompanying adult bib during registration. Note that the adult won't be timed and won't receive a finisher's medal.
When will I receive my race bib?
Race bibs are printed three weeks before race day and posted two weeks out. To have your name printed on your bib, register at least three weeks before the event. If you'd like it posted, the cut-off is two weeks before race day. Otherwise, collect it at registration on race morning from 6:30 AM.
What's included in my entry?
All finishers receive professional chip timing by Multisport Australia, a Wagga-themed finisher's medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways, and an online finisher's certificate. There will also be a photographer capturing race day moments.
