Weather & What to Pack
Mid-April in Wollongong typically offers ideal running conditions with mild autumn weather. Expect temperatures between 14-22°C, with cool mornings warming up as the day progresses. The coastal location means potential for sea breezes which can be refreshing but occasionally gusty. Humidity is generally moderate. Dress in light layers for early starts - the marathon and 5km elite waves begin before sunrise. Sun protection is essential as there's limited shade along the coastal route. Stay well hydrated throughout, particularly for longer distances as temperatures climb towards midday.
